Our church has need of a Christmas committee.  Putting up & taking down Christmas decorations works better with organized help.  Decorations are usually put up after the last Sunday Mass before Christmas, and taken down after January 6th.  Could we please have commitments for the following different decorations:  inside Manger, outside manger and lights, windows and some garland, choir loft garland, 2 prestrung trees and wreaths and poinsettias, garland and lights on main and side altars?  All the decorations except mangers are stored in Father’s attic.  Your commitment is deeply needed and will only take 1 or 2 hours at the most.  Many hands make for light work.  Please call 648-2919 or 648-2875 to volunteer your time.  Teresa and Carol will be there to help, thanks so much.
---
The St. Elizabeth’s and St. Ann’s Altar Societies annual Christmas Party will be held on Sunday, December 7, at 5:00 P.M.  There will be a social hour with dinner served at 6:00 P.M. followed by a short program.  Our theme this year is “A Candy Cane Christmas”.  All ladies of both parishes and their guests are welcome.  The committee will provide meat, bread, drinks, and table service.  Please bring a covered dish to share.  There will be a $5.00 gift exchange for those who wish to participate.  The Dahlgren women will reveal their Secret Sister.
---

This year instead of buying poinsettias, we are asking anyone who wants a Christmas Memorial for a loved one to donate money to the needy in the parish and we will list that loved one “in memory of” in our Christmas booklet.  Please drop an envelope with your name, who it is in memory of or get a hold of Teresa Wellen
648-2919. Please have your donations in by December 7th, if you want your loved one listed in our booklet.

There will be a TWO-WEEK BULLETIN the weekend of November 22nd & 23rd.  There will not be a bulletin the weekend of November 29th & 30th.  The Holy Day Schedule is also under coming events, along with the birthdays on our website:  http://www.hamiltoncom.net/~catholic/

Father Joe:  A man walked up to a Franciscan and Jesuit and asked, “How many novenas must you say to get a Mercedes Benz?”  The Franciscan asked, “What’s a Mercedes Benz?”  The Jesuit asked, “What’s a novena?”
Two Jesuit novices both wanted a cigarette while they prayed.  They decided to ask their superior for permission.  The first asked but was told no.  A little while later he spotted his friend smoking and praying.  “Why did the superior allow you t smoke and not me?” he asked.  His friend replied, “Because you asked if you could smoke while you prayed, and I asked if I could pray while I smoked!
A priest and a bus driver both died and went to Heaven at the same time.  They get to the pearly gates where St. Peter greets them.  He motions to the priest, and they both hop in a jeep and go out the back door.  There are about 50 acres of rolling hills with a little cottage on the knoll.  St. Peter
turns to the priest and says “This will be yours for eternity.  A perfect little cottage, right next to a lovely pond, a lush little garden, and a library full of books.”
The bus driver hops in a stretch limo and goes out the front door.  There are about 500 acres of land, with mountains and lakes and rivers.  There is a huge 200 room castle on one of the mountains, and a wishing well that makes wishes come true.  St. Peter says “This will be yours for eternity.  You can live in that castle with servants to wait on you hand and foot, and you can have everything you want.”  The bus driver looks and St. Peter and says “Well, now, don’t think I’m not grateful, buy why am I getting so much more than the priest?”  St. Peter just laughs and says “You brought more souls to Heaven!  When the priest preached, everyone fell asleep. When you drove your bus, people prayed!”
May God Bless You!  Fr. Joe
